Her life was defined by deep love for her family, quiet strength, and a generous spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her family was always at the center of her world, and she took great pride in the love she gave and received throughout her life.
Born on September 15, 1962, Jamie was the cherished wife of Roy Wright, the love of her life and constant companion. She was a loving stepmother to Scott, Tara, and Angela, embracing her role with care and devotion. Jamie was a proud and devoted grandmother to Austin, Hailey, Emily, and Reiley, and a loving aunt to her nieces Elizabeth and Ella, her nephew Tom, and many other extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was the beloved twin sister of Laura Louise Beverly (David) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and loving sister to Jim Short (Eileen) of Springfield, Virginia, and Cindy Short (Sue) of Chesapeake, Virginia. Her family bond was strong and enduring, grounded in loyalty, humor, and unconditional love.
Jamie graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in business, reflecting her intelligence, determination, and natural ability to lead. She carried those strengths throughout her professional life, earning respect for her insight and steady presence.
She spent much of her career in the insurance industry with USAA, where she was known for her dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic. Her colleagues valued her integrity and her commitment to excellence in all she did.
Outside of work, Jamie found joy in life’s simple pleasures—gardening, music, walking, traveling, and watching sunsets at the beach. These moments reflected her appreciation for beauty, peace, and time spent with loved ones.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Family Choice Funerals & Cremations, where family and friends will gather to honor her life and legacy.
