It is with profound sadness that the Norths Rugby Community acknowledges the tragic passing of former Eagles player, Beven Malachi Sapolu.
Beven was a valued member of the Norths Rugby family, remembered not only for his contribution on the field but also for the respect, warmth, and spirit he brought to those around him. His passing is a devastating loss felt deeply across the entire club community, where he will be remembered with great affection and admiration.
Beyond rugby, Beven was a loving husband to Deb Perez, a dedicated club volunteer and junior rugby mum, and a devoted father to five children. His commitment to his family was unwavering, and his role as a husband and father was central to his life. The loss of Beven is especially heartbreaking for Deb and the children, and our thoughts, love, and prayers are with them during this incredibly difficult time.
Beven’s presence extended well beyond the playing field. He was part of a wider community that values connection, mentorship, and support, and his memory will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. The impact of his life is reflected in the strength of the relationships he built and the lasting impression he leaves behind within the Norths Rugby Club and broader rugby community.
Funeral arrangements have been made as follows:
The service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, 1st May at Corpus Christi Church. Following the service, a burial will take place at 12:30pm at Nudgee Cemetery. Friends, teammates, and members of the community are warmly invited to attend and are encouraged to bring flowers as we gather to honour and celebrate Beven’s life.
As we come together in mourning, we also remember Beven Malachi Sapolu with gratitude for his life, his love for his family, and his contribution to our rugby community. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
