The family of Charles Francis Trainor shares with profound sadness the passing of their son on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 14.

Born on October 19, 2011, Charles was known for his gentle demeanor, quiet confidence, and consistently kind nature. Those who knew him describe him as respectful, thoughtful, and easygoing, with a calm presence that helped others feel comfortable and included. He carried himself with quiet maturity and treated those around him with consideration and care.

Affectionately known as “ChaCha,” Charles was involved in football, where he valued teamwork, structure, and the relationships formed through the sport. He was regarded by teammates as steady, supportive, and dependable. Outside of athletics, he spent much of his time with his family, which remained a central and important part of his life.

Charles was baptized on January 28, 2012, at Saint Mary Cathedral. His godparents are Justin Talentino and Gia Gulino Talentino, who held a meaningful place in his life.

He is survived by his parents, James “Trey” Trainor III and Lucy Gassiot Trainor; his siblings James IV (Amelie), Abigail, Patrick, Mary Catherine, and Andrew; and extended family members who were part of his upbringing and daily life.

Although his time was brief, those who knew Charles remember the quiet impact he had through his presence, his kindness, and the relationships he built. He is remembered with deep affection and respect by family, friends, teammates, and all who had the opportunity to know him.

The family extends sincere appreciation for the outpouring of support, prayers, and condolences during this difficult time. Assistance has been coordinated through a meal train organized by Tom Trainor and Jennifer Crouch Trainor, with additional information available for those wishing to contribute toward funeral expenses.

Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Saint Mary Cathedral in Austin, Texas. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 5:30 p.m. and Funeral Mass at 6:00 p.m., with a reception afterward. Burial will take place at Phillips Cemetery in Dripping Springs.

The family is grateful for the continued support and remembrance of Charles.
