Steven J. Pfleuger Jr., 34, of Hamburg, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 27, 2026, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in the Town of Porter, Niagara County. His sudden passing has left family, friends, and colleagues heartbroken and deeply mourning the loss of a devoted father, son, brother, and friend.
Born on September 27, 1991, in Springville, NY, Steven was a twin son of Steven Sr. and Brenda (Miller) Pfleuger. He graduated from Gowanda Central School in the Class of 2009 and went on to proudly serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps in 2011. Following his service, he continued his education at Bryant & Stratton College in Buffalo before transferring to Hilbert College in Hamburg, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2018.
At the time of his passing, Steven served as a Law Enforcement Specialist with the United States Border Patrol in the Buffalo Sector. He had also recently returned from Guantanamo Bay in November 2025 while serving with the National Guard. Steven’s commitment to service reflected his strong sense of duty, discipline, and patriotism.
Above all, Steven was a family man with a kind and generous soul. He deeply loved his children, Kyler Pfleuger and Harper Knapp, who were his greatest pride and joy. He was also a fun and caring uncle, forming close bonds with his nieces and nephews. He shared a loving relationship with Rachael O’Dee and her daughter Riley O’Dee.
Steven is survived by his mother Brenda Pfleuger; his father Steven Sr. (Sarah) Pfleuger; and his siblings Cynthia (Warren) Lee, Christopher (Elizabeth) Miller, his twin sister Stephanie (Melvin) Escribano, Malerie Kelsey, and William Eppinger Pfleuger. He is also survived by many extended family members, friends, and his loyal dog Willow. Known to many as “Wheelz” through Shotgun MC of Buffalo, Steven will be remembered for his loyalty, humor, and friendship.
Friends may call Friday, May 1, 2026, from 2:00–7:00 p.m. at Schindler Funeral Home in Gowanda. A funeral service with full military honors will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Gowanda Free Methodist Church, followed by burial near his paternal grandparents. Memorial contributions may be made to any local veterans organization in honor of his service and sacrifice.
